Food & Fashion - Floral

Flowers aren't in full bloom on this side of the earth but there is encouragement from the recent Sydney warmth and brighter days. Fresh salads, floral scents and refreshing drinks are something I'm looking forward to experiencing again in a few month's time. There is a lot of floral fashion out there, and not of the gaudy granny kind either. Pairing bold floral prints with neutrals and basics like t shirts, jeans, simple jewellery and clean hairstyles, makes it really wearable...quite pretty in fact :) Here's another food and fashion post with inspiration from nature's blooms.

Apart from herb flowers, I haven't tried cooking with edible flowers... have you? I have a bottle of Dried French Lavender sitting in the pantry which needs to be cracked open soon! I have my eye on trying out the Lavender Creme Brulee above and also the Pear & Thyme Cocktail. Mmmmm.

I'm currently feeling all blocked up and sinusey - have been holed up at home for the last three days (minus one half day where I attempted to be at work...bad choice...)! But the bright colours and spring/summer fresh feeling that the above images conjure up, have me feeling slightly better now ... or is it the drugs talking? :)
