Laser Cut Leather
^ Laser Cut Leather (faux) Top / Forever 21
^ Boyfriend jeans / Gap Japan
^ Leather & Wood Platform Sandal Clogs / Steve Madden (loving these and these too)
^ Leopard Clutch / Nine West
I saw a Facebook post the other day that proclaimed Leather is the new Denim. I'm not so sure about that. All I know is that even though Summer is around the corner in this neck of the woods, I'm not shying away from this typically Autumnal fabric (faux or real), especially when you can find laser cut versions like this top that will let in a bit of a breeze.
(tehehe look at those hairs on my arms)
Aside from the fact that I keep ripping bigger holes in these jeans every time I hurriedly put them on, I am loving them HEAPS. Whilst I love stretch denim, a non-stretch fit is great too... over the last few weeks these have fully molded to my bum (haha), and I am now on the hunt to find different shades of the same shape!
Rubber platform shoes are all the rage leading up to Summer, and this trend is making me fondly nostalgic of my platform wearing high school days. However this time around, I'm not loving the rubber version as much as the wooden or espadrille kind. Whilst these wooden platforms (some call these clogs) look crazy high, they are uber comfortable as the arch is at an acceptable angle, and the sturdiness of the platform and multiple straps makes them easy to walk in.
Happy hump day peeps! Thanks so much for reading!

Boyfriend and Stripes
'Boyfriend' jeans aren't for everyone, and I know they look super duper cool on tall skinny long legged girls, but what I'm loving the most is the comfort factor, and the ability to dress them up or down with flats or heels. This is just a simple outfit put together with a stripe jersey knit, a red lip with no other accessories except for a couple of different shoes. If your top half is a different size to your bottom half, play it up with stripes! Horizontal stripes give the illusion of width and since my bottom half is larger than my top, pulling a stripe top was the easy way to play with proportions.
Red Lippie: CanMake in Sweet Cherry 03
Stripe Knit: Zara (on sale!)
Boyfriend Capris: Gap Japan
Flats: Witchery (love these too)
Heels: Tony Bianco (love these too)
The crotch isn't too 'dropped' on this pair, and except for the fact that I keep putting my foot through the rips when I put them on (I'm almost always in a rush!), I think they fit like a glove. It's my first time venturing into the ripped variety too! Maybe I should have bought a second pair as a backup because I'm currently living in these!
With a base outfit like this, you can totally jazz it up further with more accessories and layers! With a statement bejewelled necklace, or a sleek leather jacket, or a trench coat and bright coloured clutch, have your hair up, hair curled, and the list goes on :)

Faux Bob Faux Leather
Having grown my hair for waaaay over a year now, the length of my hair has reached past my mid back. I've toyed with the idea for the longest time, whether to just chop it all off for a new look. I ramp up the courage to say to my hairdresser, "go for gold lady, chop away", but then I sit in the hairdresser's chair, get cold feet, and just go through with a casual trimming of the layers, and even keep the length.
The weather over the weekend was like a peek of spring, and I think it's time for a change!
If you can lengthen short hair with extensions, you can do the reverse and temporarily shorten long hair, all with the help of a curling iron, a few bobby pins and hair spray. I sectioned off my hair in half, roughly curled and tucked in the under long layers of the lower half, then played around with the top half of my hair layers to shape a rough bob. Tease the roots of your hair to help you shape the around the crown. Of course this works best if you have long layered hair that already has a bit of shape and dimension.
Until I get the courage to jump on the big chop wagon I'm thinking the whole fake-it-till-you-make-it philosophy will have to do for now. Plus it's a good way to play around with various bob lengths before going in for the dive.
I think once I come back from Tokyo, I will be ready for the plunge. I just need to figure out exactly how short this future bob is going to be! Watch this space!

Khaki & Leather
Lately, I've been shopping a lot... in my own wardrobe. All the clothes I like online at the moment are for the warmer months, and so whilst I can't quite wear what I have bought lately, I have to rely on layering with what I have in my own wardrobe. Being able to pull out long tops and stretchy bottoms is a must! Wear with ballet flats, strappy heels or pair with a leather jacket, and leather boots and you're good to go!
Whenever I shop, I think it's always useful to remember what you already have, and then visualize matching or pairing what you're thinking of buying, with the great items you have already sitting in your wardrobe.
Leather Zara JACKET (old, but similar here and here) / Long Khaki Max STRIPE TOP (ooooold, but similar feel here in black and white) / Khaki Leopard Saben CLUTCH (limited ed, seen here) / Faux Leather French Connection PANTS (also seen here, similar here or real leather here) / Leather Cellini BOOTS (discont. but similar version here on sale too!) / Tru Trussardi SUNGLASSES (also seen here)
These last photos are so random right? As Jase and I were walking along, we came across a basket full of limes, no one around, with payment to be made in an honesty box. Didn't even know people still do this these days! Love it!
Hope you all had a good start to the week! I think summer is peering around the corner, it got to 20degrees today! CRAZY!

Floral and Lace-up
Sunglasses (Tru Trussardi) / Top (H&M...veerrrry old) / Bag (Zara, seen here and here) / Floral Pants (Target, similar here in a more pastel colour, also on sale!) / Lace-up heels (Wittner, ON SALE HERE!)
It's not often I come across shoes that tick all the boxes, i.e. (1) look high-end, (2) sit at a comfortable height (for me anyways) and (3), are on sale. These Lace-up heels were a bargain at $37 from the Wittner store. I couldn't believe my eyes! So I did the normal girl thing and bought them just because they were on sale.... not because I was looking for them specifically (teehehe).
I don't normally go rummaging around in Target to shop for clothes either (I don't have the patience when the whole store looks unorganised)... but I chanced upon finding these floral pants last summer, on my way to the check-out counter when I was purchasing something else. They were $15. I'm telling ya... when bargains find YOU like that, you have to snap them up!
Have a good week peeps...another day, another dollar ey?

p.s. whoops, I didn't mean to flash a bit of bra-strap action in this last pic, but it was the only shot we got that was of my full outfit and I only realised it happened, post-production!!
